Hypertropic pyloric stenosis is mainly seen in infants of age 3-6 weeks of life common cause of gastric outlet obstruction. It is seen in 1 to 3 of every 1000 live births. Main cause is not clearly known can be caused by environmental and genetic factors. The main signs and symptoms are vomitings, dehydration, constipation, weight loss, electrolyte imbalance. Treatment includes intravenous fluids and symptomatic therapy. Surgery mainly performed to treat this condition is pyloromyotomy.
